Penza, 5 September 2012. PenzaNews. The share of local products in the network hypermarket Lenta in Penza reaches 13%. This was stated by the director of Penza hypermarket Nikolai Razzhivin. “Local products labelled with special green price tags are very popular among the citizens. According to opinion surveys, an ordinary buyer gives more confidence to products of regional companies. In addition, local products are usually cheaper because their costs do not include middlemen markups and logistics costs,” he said.

He reminded that before the opening of the hypermarket in Penza in 2008, the Lenta company hold a meeting with local suppliers and producers, which was attended by representatives of more than 30 major companies of the region.
“Now relations with the local producers are developing successfully. Almost all major items on the shelves include those produced in Penza: milk, bread, sweets and meat. Direct deliveries from farms help to keep the lowest price,” Nikolai Razzhivin emphasized.
Moreover, according to him, several Penza companies work with Lenta hypermarkets and other shops in Nizhny Novgorod, Togliatti, Saratov, Ryazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Volgograd and Astrakhan owing to the good quality of products, guaranteed amounts and fixed delivery dates.
“The retail network plans to further develop and strengthen relationships with local producers, and this, in the first place, will be for the benefit of Penza residents,” the director of the hypermarket concluded.
