Vasily Bochkarev voiced main economic indicators of the region for 8 months of 2012

Penza, 18 September 2012. PenzaNews. The governor of the Penza region Vasily Bochkarev voiced the main socio-economic indicators of the region in January – August 2012 during a meeting with representatives of the media, which was held in the town of Kamenka on Tuesday, September 18.

“The overall situation in the region is characterized by relatively large increase in industrial and agricultural production and stable positive dynamics of basic social indicators. The production of major livestock products increased at all farms in January – August, compared to that same span in 2011. Investments in fixed capital increased by 25.1% and amounted to 37,127, 400 thousand rubles,” Vasily Bochkarev said.
According to him, 298,5 thousand square meters of housing were commissioned in the Penza region in January – August 2012, which is 16,1% more than in the same period of 2011.
“Retail turnover increased by 3.1%, turnover of public catering — by 0.7%. Cargo turnover executed by regional transport increased by 9.3%. In general, the Penza region received more than 3,527 million rubles in profit which is 10.4% more than in 2011,” Vasily Bochkarev added.
He also informed that the Penza region took the third place in the rate of growth of meat production in January – July 2012 among the regions of the Privolzhsky Federal District while its growth rate of egg production was the highest.
“Products of Penza enterprises were exported to 49 countries, 83.7% of which are far-abroad countries and the Baltic states. Importation of goods into the region was carried out from two neighboring and 45 far-abroad countries. The volume of imports decreased by 13.2%, exports increased by 11.6%,” the governor said.
According to him, consumer food prices decreased by 0.5% in August 2012 compared to the previous month, and since the beginning of the year they decreased by 4.7%. Prices and tariffs for public services increased by 0.4% in August.
“In August 2012, the cost of a consumer basket in the Penza region was about 2,269 rubles and decreased by 3.5% compared to the previous month,” informed Vasily Bochkarev and added that in July 2012 the average nominal salary was 19,531 rubles which is 18% more than in July 2011.
