Penza, 19 September 2012. PenzaNews. The governor of the Penza region Vasily Bochkarev believes that after the adoption of the law on environmentally friendly products, local farmers and cooperators will get the incentive to collaborate and promote their agricultural products.

“The commodity producers of the region will be able to sell the product 30% more expensive than in trading network stores, but people will be aware that these products have a certificate of environmental friendliness,” Vasily Bochkarev noted during a press conference on Tuesday, September 18, when asked about the possibility of opening a brand store in Penza, where only local goods would be sold.

The head of the region noted that so far the owners of private small farms and peasant farms, as well as cooperators are facing difficulties in competing with the commercial networks.

“Certainly, we recommended the local authorities, together with the local business to open chain stores in the regional centers and towns, but we are not able to fully support them with products. We suggested that people come together, but they still have trouble consolidating and forming associations and cooperatives. We now have overstocking, but so far no logistics professionals,” Vasily Bochkarev explained.

According to him, the law on environmentally friendly products will allow farmers to see a real benefit from the combination of their efforts.

The Governor stressed that agricultural business should manage its relations with the customer on its own, but not without the participation of the authorities.

“We need to motivate and promote local producers allocating land, providing necessary utility lines,” the head of the region concluded.
