Penza, 6 December 2012. PenzaNews. The project “Licensed software — easy and safe” aimed at helping small and medium-sized businesses to equip their workplaces with licensed software, started in the Penza region.

The project was initiated by the association of owners of BSA, the companies “Kaspersky Lab,” Adobe, Microsoft, and “1C,” and is implemented with the support of the Penza regional government and the department “K” of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

“Today the licensed software has become an integral part of everyone's life. In the government office work licensed software is also important, for the officials are responsible for data privacy of citizens,” underlined the head of the department of informatization of the Penza region Alexander Antonov, during a press conference on the launch of the project “Licensed Software — easy and safe” on Thursday, December 6.

“Every Russian company, on average, loses around 18,5 thousand dollars a year using unlicensed software if the malfunction is not considerable. However, when critical failures occur, the losses increase significantly,” commented the head of the department of cooperation with partners- integrators of Microsoft in Russia on the territory of the Volga District Yevgeny Matveyev.

Yevgeny Matveyev expressed the hope that small and medium enterprises of the Penza region will see the necessity and benefits of using the licensed software after the project is launched.
