Penza, 6 December 2012. PenzaNews. Ceremony of launching of services of the fourth generation (4G) was held at the office of the Penza Megafon branch on Wednesday, December 5.

The event was attended by the head of the department of informatization of the Penza region Alexander Antonov, the deputy head of economic development and foreign relations of Penza Victor Gvozdev, as well as the representatives of Megafon.

“The service provider has already established itself as a reliable supplier of high-quality services by taking part in the project “Ambulance,” providing the medical ambulance teams with Wi-Fi Internet access and communication service with the hospital.

The commercial director of the Volga District branch of Megafon Vladimir Karpushkin noted that the average productivity of the Internet of the fourth-generation is 10-20 Mbit / s, which is 6-7 times higher than in the 3G network.

“One of the main advantages of 4G services, provided by company Megafon, is that even when the user leaves the area cover by 4G network he will still be able to continue working via 3G or 2G,” he said.

Speaking about the devices allowing access to 4G network, Vladimir Karpushkin noted that Megafon offers several types of gadgets: modems, Wi-Fi-Router, as well as Russia’s first 4G-tablet “Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9.”

He added that before February 5, 2013 the Internet subscribers purchasing 4G-modem or router connected to “Internet XL” option will get mobile Internet access for two months for free.
