Penza, 22 January 2013. PenzaNews. The clothing industry will be actively developing in the Penza region in the next few years. This opinion was expressed by the First Deputy Chairman – Minister of Investment Development and Business in the region Vladimir Volkov. “The trend of development of clothing industry in the Penza region is a reaction to the seeming loss of competitiveness of Chinese manufactures,” he explained.

Commenting on the online information about the reducing investment attractiveness of China, Vladimir Volkov noted that China has recently begun losing its advantage of cheap labor, hence, low-cost goods.

“I think the Penza region should take advantage of the situation and make the clothing industry one of the major parts of economy of the region, as well as use the possibility to create more jobs,” the minister underlined.

He added that the centers of regional development would play a significant role in the growth of the clothing industry.

“Penza villages may become a kind of China in the region. Not in terms of labor exploitation, but successful proportion of minimum requirements and assets for start-up enterprises, the quality of the workforce and its real value,” the press service quoted Vladimir Volkov.
