Penza, 5 February 2013. PenzaNews. 15,373 million rubles will be allocated for the implementation of a long-term program “Reconstruction and development of storm-water drain in Penza in 2013–2021.”

185 km of storm-water drain is currently operating in Penza, 50 km of which is 75% worn and require reconstruction. The most problematic areas are in the central part of the city.

The program provides for activities aimed at effective and reliable storm-water disposal, building of 23 sewage treatment facilities of storm-water drain.

At the first stage — 2013–2015 — it is planned to hold inventory and certification of all existing storm-water drain networks, to identify necessary maintenance activities, and develop project documentation for network reconstruction.

At the second stage — 2016–2020 — 97 km of network are planned to be repaired, 391 km of new network are scheduled for laying out, 19 sewage treatment plants and 6 pumping stations are supposed to be built.

During the final stage of the program, it is planned to set up automated control system in addition to repairing, construction and maintenance activities.
