Penza, 6 February 2013. PenzaNews. The delegation from the Penza region will study Finnish experience in staff training for diesel engine manufacturing during a visit to Vaasa to be held in the nearest future. This was announced by the head of the region Vasily Bochkarev during a business meeting with the members of the board of directors of the company Wartsila on Tuesday February 5.

“Penza region is interested in cooperation with one of the world’s largest diesel manufacturing companies. Today, the region needs specialists to produce quality products,” he said.

The President of Italian branch of the company Wartsila Sergio Razeto supported the position of Vasily Bochkarev, stressing that availability of highly qualified specialists is one of the founding principles of the company.

According to Sergio Razeto, the Finnish company is considering the Penza region as a platform for development and implementation of economically sound joint projects.

“To sell diesel engines, it is not enough having only skillful engineering solution, but also constant sources of supply for parts and components, and we are interested in this,” the press service of the regional government quoted Sergio Razeto.

The cooperation with the company Wartsila provides for building a joint enterprise for development, assembling and testing of multi-purpose medium-rail diesel engines for railway, marine and stationary use by August 2013 on the territory of “Penzadieselmash.”

It is expected that its production capacity will amount to 250–300 diesel engines per year, and the number of employees will reach 350 by 2015.
