Penza, 14 February 2013. PenzaNews. Two false flax processing plants could be built in the Penza region by 2014. This was stated by the First Deputy Chairman – Minister of Investment Development and Business of the region Vladimir Volkov during a meeting with journalists on the results of the second international conference “False Flax – the raw material for jet fuel of the second generation” on Thursday, February 14.

“The representatives of the two companies, which signed letters of intent with the Governor Vasily Bochkarev, held talks with Lufthansa and Neste Oil. They intend to build plants if there is raw material,” Vladimir Volkov explained.

According to him, in the middle of March two important agreements will be signed – between Lufthansa and American investment fund, and between Lufthansa and Neste Oil.

“In addition, it is necessary to conclude an agreement between the Government of the Penza region and by Lufthansa by this time. These documents will help to determine who is funding the project, what amounts of biofuel and at what price are needed. This will be enough to start construction,” he said.

In turn, Raissa Steinigk, the director of Camelina Sativa Projekt GmbH noted that if in 2014 the plant is built, there may not be enough false flax produced in the region, but the project should be started.

“I would like to note: if large companies come to Penza and start working here, the region will become attractive for foreign investors,” she emphasized.

According to her, earlier foreigners could not find Penza on a map.

“The conference and creation of alliances launched a powerful movement throughout Russia. And now it is important to establish an information base, in what media plays the greater role,” added Raissa Steinigk.
