Penza, 21 February 2013. PenzaNews. 1,2 billion rubles will be invested in construction of a hemp processing plant in the Penza region.

“This was announced during a meeting held in the regional Ministry of Agriculture on Thursday, February 21, which was attended by the director of the regulation department of agri-food market, fishery, food processing industry of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, Mikhail Orlov,” the press service of the regional government told news agency “PenzaNews.”

It is planned that the sown area will make 5 thousand hectares, and production capacity will be 50 tons of verdurous masses per year.

“The first stage of construction, which includes the initial processing, is 5 years. The second stage, involving deep processing, will take 7 years,” the government of the Penza region explained.

The name of the company which is intending to implement the project has not been specified yet.
