Penza, 27 February 2013. PenzaNews. 35,9 thousand residents of the Penza region aged 15–72 are unemployed. This was announced by the Federal State Statistics Service based on the results of sample surveys on employment.

As the press service reported to news agency “PenzaNews,” the index is average for the period from November 2012 to January 2013.

“The level of economic activity of the population is 66,5%, of employment — 63,2%, of unemployment — 5%,” the department explained.

The statistics service added that in total 4,5 million people are qualified as unemployed in Russia.

“These are people without a job or paying employment, and people looking for a job or ready to start working within a week,” the Federal State Statistics Service explained.
