Penza, 29 April 2013. PenzaNews. The agricultural sector of the Penza region is an important part of Russian economy. This was stated by the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Nikolai Fyodorov during a working meeting with governor Vasily Bochkarev held in Penza on Monday, April 29.

Nikolai Fyodorov explained that during his working visit to the Penza region he intends to discuss the development of new industries and sub-sectors of agriculture with the regional administration and the farmers.

“Among the main topics is production of turkey meat. Another important issue is development of dairy farming, which affects mastering the objective of providing Russia with milk and milk products. Despite the fact that the state program has worked so far with good funding involved, here we have the least success. We do not show failures, but, unfortunately, we show no success either,” the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation noted.

According to him, the second topic, which is to be worked through during the visit are new methods and procedures of supporting Russian agriculture in WTO.

The governor of the Penza region Vasily Bochkarev explained to Nikolai Fyodorov that the most important tasks in the agriculture of the region now is transition to the industrial production and construction of mega farms.

As news agency PenzaNews reported earlier, the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Nikolai Fyodorov arrived with a one-day working visit to the Penza region.

It is planned that in Nizhnelomovsky area he will get acquainted with the progress of the project on cultivation and processing of turkey meat by LLC “Damate,”, then visit LLC “Narovchat.”

At the end of the working visit, Nikolai Fyodorov will hold a meeting with administration and leading enterprises of agriculture on the development of cattle-farming in the Penza region.
