Equipment for harvesting almost ready for work in Penza region

Penza, 27 June 2013. PenzaNews. Preparation of harvesting equipment is almost completed in the Penza region. This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Agriculture of the region Ivan Firyulin.
“In the agricultural enterprises of different types of ownership, there are 1,582 grain combines, 486 swathers, 11,166 granaries, 326 mechanical threshing-floor, and 396 truck scales. In addition, since the beginning of 2013, agricultural producers bought 56 tractors of various modifications, 12 grain and 2 forage harvesters,” he said during a meeting on Thursday, June 27.
According to Ivan Firyulin, the combine harvesters on the farms of the region are ready at 85%, swathers at 96%, mechanical threshing-floor at 89%, truck scales at 96%. The plan is to gather grains and legumes on the area of 655,2 thousand hectares, sunflower — on 176,4 thousand hectares, and sugar beet — on 46,6 thousand hectares.
“The estimated yield of grain is 1,200 thousand tons, and 1,9-2 million tons of sugar beet,” the press service of the regional government quoted Ivan Firyulin.
