Penza, 3 July 2013. PenzaNews. 12,395 residents of the Penza region found jobs with the help of Employment Service in the first half of 2013.

“13,311 people received social support in the form of unemployment benefits, scholarships and financial aid. 795 enrolled in vocational training and re-training courses. 2,045 residents of the Penza region engaged in public works for remuneration,” the press service of the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Demography of the region told news agency “PenzaNews.”

The ministry added that, according to Penza Statistics Service, at the beginning of June the number of economically active population of the region amounted to 689,8 thousand people, 657,1 thousand of them are employed, and 32,6 thousand are not.

“Total unemployment rate, calculated according to the methodology of the International Labor Organization, is 4,7% of the economically active population,” the ministry said.

The press service also clarified that, as of the beginning of the second half of the year, enterprises and organizations of the Penza region declared a need for 16,8 thousand employees, including 13,3 thousand for working professions.

“The intensity of the labor market, which characterizes the demand and supply of labor was 0,41 people per spare position,” the Ministry of Labor of the region summed up.
