Mobile traffic of MTS subscribers in Volga Federal District increased by 2,7 times in second quarter of 2013

Penza, 23 July 2013. PenzaNews. Mobile traffic of MTS subscribers in the Volga Federal District increased by 2,7 times in the second quarter of 2013 compared to the same period last year.

According to the commercial director of MTS in the Volga Federal District Alexei Ivanov, a leading position among the regions with rising popularity of mobile Internet is the Republic of Bashkortostan which is due to increased data transmission — by 3,5 times.

Second and third places in this directory belong to the Saratov and Orenburg regions.

“The number of mobile Internet users of MTS in the Volga Federal District increased by 25% in the second quarter of 2013 compared to the same period last year. The most active growth in the number of MTS subscribers who use mobile data services, are registered in the Penza region — 50%, in the Udmurt Republic — 32%, the Nizhny Novgorod region — 31%, the Republic of Mordovia — 29%, the Ulyanovsk region — 27%, as well as in Chuvashia and Tatarstan — 26% each,” the agency interlocutor noted.

“Sustainable growth dynamics of popularity of mobile Internet proves the success of MTS strategy for the priority development of data transmission technology. Today, almost 100% of the base stations of MTS in the Volga Federal District support the technology Dual Carrier-HSDPA +, thanks to which the maximum speed of access to the 3G network has been increased to 42 megabits per second,” commented the commercial director of MTS in the Volga Federal District Alexei Ivanov.
