Penza Technopark PUTIN to start operating in September

Penza, 12 August 2013. PenzaNews. Penza Universal Technopark of Innovative Nanotechnology (PUTIN) will be put in operation in September 2013. This was announced by the head of innovation policy and special projects of the government of the Penza region Valery Bespalov on Monday, August 12.

“The level of readiness of the site is about 98%. There are slight imperfections which will be eliminated by the constructors in the nearest future,” he said.

Valery Bespalov reminded that the new industrial park would unite the companies, operating in the field of high technology.

“The territory will be occupied by the organizations close to “MedInzh” and IT-companies,” the agency interlocutor explained adding that the applications from potential residents are still accepted.

Commenting on the name of the new technopark, the building of which has an inscription “Penza Universal Technopark of Innovative Nanotechnology,” the capital letters of which also compose the name of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, Valeri Bespalov said that “it is a mere coincidence.”

“This idea [of naming the technopark] was voiced by the governor about six months ago, and it was implemented,” Valery Bespalov noted.

The Penza region is one of 12 regions included in the complex program “Creation of technoparks in the field of high technology the Russian Federation.”

According to the department of policy and special projects of the government of the Penza region, 1,149 million rubles was allocated from the federal budget for construction purposes.

It is expected that the park will house the implementation of projects on the production of joint implants, coronary stents, surgical suture material, innovative nano-composites, which will successfully compete with the best foreign samples.

It is planned that Penza high-tech technopark will become the center of the medical cluster, which will increase the market share of domestic high-tech medical products from 3% to 50%.
