Penza, 21 November 2013. PenzaNews. 51,1% of the total residential space commissioned in Penza for 10 months of 2013 belongs to individual builders. This was reported to news agency PenzaNews by the deputy head of the department of investment statistics, housing maintenance and utilities and Penzastat services Lidia Kurnikova.

According to her, this index in the region is 60%.

“From January to October of this year, individual builders commissioned 2,309 houses of 323,1 thousand square meters in the Penza region. It is 20,2% more than last year,” the agency interlocutor said.

Lidia Kurnikova added that in thirteen municipal districts all housing was constructed by people at their own expense or borrowed funds, in seven municipal districts the proportion of individual housing is over 90%.

“Individual housing construction has spread widely in recent times. The average annual percentage of such housing of total amount of constructed houses is 50,8% for 2004–2012,” the Penzastat representative concluded.
