Penza, 16 January 2014. PenzaNews. In 2013 Russian Milk Company realized all its plans and demonstrated positive development dynamics despite difficult situation in the industry. This was reported to news agency PenzaNews by the general director of Russian Milk Company Pavel Redzish.

“Last year Rusmolko increased the number of cattle by 15%. The growth was primarily due to commissioning of the new complex in the village Arshinovka of the Penza region with a capacity of 4,600 dairy cows. The first stage finished in autumn, and in early October first group of 1,100 Holstein cows arrived here from the USA. The heifers arrived with 2-5 months of pregnancy and calving started in December,” the agency interlocutor said.

He added that the next stage of breeding took place in mid-December when the second group of animals was brought – 920 heifers.

“As in the first stage, the cattle was selected by specialists of Rusmolko on farms in the United States. The calving is scheduled for the spring of 2014,” Pavel Redzish said.

According to him, compared to 2012 milk production on farms increased by over 20% - up to 35,8 thousand tons.

“The growth of the gross yield occurred not only through a significant increase of livestock, but also due to considerable improvement of its productivity. Modern technologies, implementation of new ways of nursing, watering, keeping animals, well-organized management of the livestock allow Rusmolko to constantly increase average daily milk yield,” the general director of the company noted.

He said that in 2012 on farms of Rusmolko a forage-fed cow brought 18,6 liters of milk per day, in 2013 this figure increased to 19,7 liters.

“In 2014 we plan to finish the new complex in Arshinovka. After reaching full power it will produce 120 tons of milk per day, thus we plan to get 28-30 liters of milk from each cow, or up to 10 thousand liters per head each year. And we focus primarily on the production of premium milk which is in demand the most on the market,” the agency interlocutor pointed out.

Pavel Redzish also drew attention to the fact that the growing livestock required resolving the issue of feed supply to Rusmoklo.

“Harvesting was carried out within an appropriate time frame, the work was done with over-fulfillment of the daily plan. Even unfavorable weather conditions could not prevent plans’ realization – two months of continuous heavy rains. The result is 40 thousand tons of corn for silage, the amount of haylage is 3,5 times more than it used to be – 62,5 tons, 4,5 tons of hay was harvested which is almost twice as much as last year. In addition, the gross harvest of grain on all the farms amounted to 61 thousand tons, compared to 2012 the average yield doubled from 17 to 31,6 centners per hectare. The cattle is fully provided with food,” the general director of Russian Milk Company concluded.
