Belarusian delegation participated in the discussion of issues related to the implementation of joint objectives. It included representatives of the enterprise “Orsha flax plant,” as well as other members of “Bellegprom.”

The Penza region was represented by the specialists of almost 20 companies operating on the textile market.

According to Vladimir Volkov, recently they managed to establish close ties with Belarusian partners.

“A joint working group was formed in order to implement projects in the field of light industry, as well as the company “Penzatekstillegprom,” which is an association of the most active representatives of the textile industry. It is worth noting that we have a number of organizations working in this industry — both small and large. They are scattered around the area and produce children wear, bed linen and outer clothing,” he said.

The first deputy chairman of the regional government noted that the main objective of the conference was to discuss future bilateral cooperation.

“We need to open markets in Belarus for our producers and vice versa, use our draft works including design drafts, in order to get mutual profit. Part of the goods produced by the Belarusian side can be regarded as raw material, which is natural textile. First of all, flax, which is a deficit in the Russian light industry. Direct contacts with Belarusian partners allow Penza linen producers working more efficiently,” Vladimir Volkov said.

He emphasized that the next step in the implementation of cooperation agreement is the visit of Penza delegation to Belarus.

“It is scheduled for March 2014. Both sides are considering the possibility of establishing joint production lines uniting not only by the intellectual and resource base, but also capital. We look forward to gradual development,” the first deputy chairman of the government of the Penza region concluded.
