Penza, 8 April 2014. PenzaNews. The Penza region was not listed in the top 20 regions of Russia with the greatest gas debt.

The top of the list belongs to the Moscow region, owing over 7,61 billion rubles.

The top five also includes North Ossetia — 4,2 billion rubles, Krasnodar Krai — 2,32 billion rubles, Kabardino-Balkaria — 2,16 billion rubles, and the Tver region — 1,93 billion rubles.

According to the newspaper “Izvestia,” due to the increase in the total debt “Gazprom Mezhregiongas” plans to limit or stop the gas supply to 700 enterprises in 57 regions of the country from April 15 till the end of the heating season .

According to the head of the regional administration of housing and communal services of the Penza region Yuri Ilyin, the fact that the region is not ranked among the 20 largest debtors demonstrates the effectiveness of the measures taken in the region in order to repay the gas debt.

“The region did not fail the task. Moreover, the work will be intensified. On the other hand, the mere appearance of this anti-rating makes it clear to all gas consumers — both individuals and legal entities — that they are obliged to pay for consumed gas in full and within the specified period of time,” he stressed.

Yuri Ilyin stated that at present the total gas debt of the Penza region is approximately 0,6 billion rubles.
