Penza biotech project gained momentum in Crimea

Penza, 8 May 2014. PenzaNews. Scientific enterprise “Crimean regional biotech park” was created thanks to signing of the cooperation agreement between the agricultural institutes of Crimea republic and Penza region.
The biotech park is based on the Crimean Institute of Agriculture.
The new structure is expected to perform the duties of intensive agricultural development on the peninsula via adoption of innovational technologies.
As press center of “Penza Region Development Corporation” informed agency “PenzaNews,” the trilateral cooperation agreement between the Crimean Institute of Agriculture, Penza Agricultural Scientific-Research Institute and “Bioinnovatsiya,” LLC, was signed in April 2014 in order to form a crop breeding and selection center for the perspective oil-bearing crops on the peninsula territory.
“On the basis of the selection center, we plan to cooperatively conduct scientific research and test experiements of new cultivation technologies for madwort and other perspective oil-bearing cultures. We also plan to receive proof samples of madwort oil, as well as biofuel and glycerine fractions made from it,” Penza Region Development Corporation representative said.
