Vladimir Reznichenko, Deputy General Director of “Rusmolco” milk company, told news agency PenzaNews that the penultimate delivery of cattle on the farm was 380 Holstein-Friesian breeding heifers, which were imported from Holland to the dairy complex in Arshinovka village, Nizhnelomovsky area last Wednesday, 9 July.

“The company specialists have personally selected the best heifers on a farm in Holland. As their pedigrees show, these animals will give 9.5 thousand liters of milk per year by the third lactation. The heifers were transported to the Penza region in comfortable two-stored stock trucks in four days. All the animals arrived in good physical condition — clean and well-maintained,” the agency interlocutor said.

He explained that currently the heifers are in the second half of pregnancy.

“The first calves will be born in October-November 2014,” Vladimir Reznichenko noted.

According to official data, the total livestock population of the Arshinovka dairy complex reached 4.350 heads together with the new shipment.

The cattle farm is designed to hold up to 4.600 heads.

Investments in this dairy industrial complex accounted to nearly 2.5 billion rubles. The complex spans over 45 hectares and consists of five cowsheds, two milking units, the modern system of manure removal, storage space for feed and large machinery fleet.

Milk production per cow in the enterprise is expected to reach 10 tons of milk per year by the end of 2014. According to the plans, the Arshinovka complex will produce 120 tons of milk a day after reaching its full production capacity.
