Penza, 31 July 2014. PenzaNews. Construction of a distribution center of trading network “Magnit” began near the village of Salovka, the Penza region, said governor Vasily Bochkarev during a press conference held in the regional government hall on Thursday, July 31.

“Excavators, dump trucks and other equipment are already working there. The center must be put in operation the next year, and this is 1.5 thousand jobs. Penza agribusiness will have an opportunity to sell their goods in this distribution center. It may be dairy, or meat, or fruit, or vegetables. This means the region will get a good wholesale and retail intermediary, which will be ready to sell any amount of agricultural products every day,” Vasily Bochkarev said.

He added that a transport company will be based in the 60 thousand sq. meter center.

As news agency PenzaNews reported earlier, the first negotiations with the leadership of JSC “Tander” about the establishment of inter-regional distribution center of agricultural production in the Penza region took place in 2011.

It was originally planned to commission the center in 2013, but later the start of construction was delayed.

According to information posted on the official website of “Magnit,” currently the company's distribution network includes 23 distribution centers.
