Penza, 7 August 2014. PenzaNews. Over 518 thousand tons of grain in bunker weight were threshed in the Penza region. According to the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture, the average yield amounted to 29 quintals per hectare, while last year’s amount was 28 quintals per hectare.

“Crops were threshed from the sown area of 179.4 thousand hectares, which is 32% of the total amount,” the ministry said.

The department clarified that winter and spring wheat is threshed on the half of all harvested areas of the region, and spring barley was threshed on 12% of the total harvested area.
