Rusmolco put into operation Russia's largest dairy complex in Arshinovka

Penza, 3 October 2014. PenzaNews. The opening ceremony of Russia's largest modern dairy complex of Russian Dairy Company (Rusmolco) took place in Arshinovka village, Nizhnelomovsky area, the Penza region last Thursday, October 2.

Construction of the project started on 16 August 2012. Total investment in the project amounted to around 3,3 billion rubles.

This complex is the first farm, created in a joint venture of Rusmolco and Singaporean agricultural company Olam International.

The opening ceremony of the dairy complex was attended by presidential envoy in the Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich, chairman of the committee on economic policy, business and innovation development of the State Duma of Russia Igor Rudensky, first deputy minister of agriculture of the Russian Federation Igor Manylov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Singapore in Russia Lim Kheng Hua, governor of the Penza region Vasily Bochkarev, as well as the management of Russian Dairy Company and Olam International.

Opening the ceremony, Mikhail Babich, expressed satisfaction at the fact that this object appears exactly in the Penza region.

In turn, governor Vasily Bochkarev thanked the leaders of Rusmolco for daring to take on such a complex project, and noted the favorable geographical location of the new dairy complex.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Singapore to Russia Lim Kheng Hua expressed the hope that the opening of the dairy complex in Arshinovka will further the coming of Singapore companies in Russia.

“Singapore is a small country and we do not have own resources for the development of agriculture, but Olam International is the largest investor in this sector in the Russian Federation. The company has manufacturing facilities in 65 countries around the world, and we are very pleased that now we have one here. Further infusion of Singapore companies in Russia will depend on the success of Olam International. I am sure that this experience will set other Singapore companies to work closely with your country,” Lim Kheng Hua said.

During the opening ceremony, head of board of directors Naum Babaev noted the contribution of Agricultural Bank of Russia, which provided Rusmolco 1,9 billion rubles as a long-term loan.

At the end of the event a symbolic ribbon was cut. After that Naum Babaev operated a tour around the farm for the guests.

Dairy complex covers the area of 45 hectares. The mega farm consists of five barns, two milking parlors, two calf villages, manure recycling machine, warehouses for feed and numerous fleet of agricultural machinery. The main milking parlor of the complex — “Carousel” by American manufacturer Boumatic — has 72 seats.

The complex capacity is 4,600 cows and 1,500 heads of replacements. Currently the facility has more than 5 thousand animals including 2,200 cows, 2,250 heifers and young animals.

The new enterprise created up to 200 high-paying jobs in the region. The average salary for the complex in Arshinovka in 2014 amounted to 23 thousand rubles.

Rusmolco built 16 houses for professionals, dorm rooms are provided to employees.

It is expected that this dairy complex will produce up to 120 tons of milk per day or 46 thousand tons per year after reaching full capacity. Currently the farm completed its livestock with Holstein-Friesian cattle. Company experts personally selected the best animals on breeding farms in the Netherlands and the USA.

After the tour, the participants visited the poultry processing plant of DAMATE Group. Mikhail Babich and other guests observed workshops for the production of turkey meat and were told about the basic nuances of the process.

Presidential envoy in the Volga Federal District was pleased with what he saw: Nizhnelomovsky area enterprises show new level of development of agriculture in Russia.

Rusmolco (Russian Dairy Company) is the leading milk production company and one of the biggest milk companies of this kind in the country.

The production facilities are located in the Penza region. Today Rusmolco brings together nine farms specialized in dairy farming and crop production. The total area in management is 136 thousand hectares, the number of cattle heads is more than 10 thousand at the end of 2013.

In 2007, Rusmolco started its activities in the region by rehabilitating and reconstructing the old cattle farms. Currently, the company gives priority to the construction of new world-level dairy complexes.

Among the company’s assets are three projects in Penza region built “from scratch”: an industrial complex for 3.600 cattle heads in Narovchatsky area, the modern farm for 1.200 heads in Kuznetsky area and the complex for 4.600 heads in Arshinovka, which is constructed in accordance with an agreement signed in 2012 between Rusmolko and Olam Companies.

Rusmolko enterprises employ over one thousand people.

The chairman of the Board of Directors of the company is Naum Babaev, and its CEO is Sumanta Kumar De.
