Vasily Bochkarev: Turkey ready to buy up to 10,000 tons of carp from Penza region
Penza, 26 January 2015. PenzaNews. Turkey is ready to buy up to 10,000 tons of carp in the Penza region, said the governor Vasily Bochkarev during the briefing session of the regional government on Monday, January 26.
“And our fishmongers are saying they can’t sell carp to anybody,” Vasily Bochkarev remarked during his speech about a business trip to Turkey.
“What we should do is not looking for import replacement, but feed people, create competition on the market, which will lead to surplus over our demand,” said the head of the region.
He instructed Vyacheslav Orel, deputy chairman of the regional government, and Andrei Burlakov, the Minister of Agriculture, to organize a meeting with all owners of Penza fishing ponds and deputy heads of administration-related institutions in the nearest future to discuss potential carp trade cooperation with Turkey.
