Penza region catalogued abandoned fruit gardens

Penza, 9 March 2015. PenzaNews. The Penza region Ministry of Agriculture has catalogued the abandoned fruit gardens in the area.
“As a result, we have found a total of 4,497.1 hectares of fruit gardens. Out of them, 1,732.3 hectares will be reused, 1,653.8 may be potentially recovered, and 1,111 hectares may not be recovered,” the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture informed PenzaNews agency.
According to officials, during the last year over 1,000 hectares of fruit gardens were subjected to agricultural recovery procedures, 40 hectares of low-yield gardens were logged, and 42.1 hectares of intensive gardens were planted.
“In 2015, we plan to plant a total of 316.8 hectares of new gardens, log 210 hectares of old fruit plantations, and conduct recover procedures on over 1,405.8 hectares,” the press service added.
