369,400 hectares of spring crops planted in Penza region

Penza, 6 May 2015. PenzaNews. A total of 369,400 hectares of spring crops were planted in the Penza region as of Tuesday, May 5.

“This is 48% of our planned amount,” the press service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture informed PenzaNews agency.

According to spokespersons, 198,600 hectares of this volume are spring cereal crops, which is 55% of the plan.

“Currently, the Penza producers are planting potatoes and vegetables. Based on the latest information, potatoes were planted on 26,500 hectares, and vegetables on 4,800 hectares,” the Ministry added.
