Penza region increases pond fish production by 6.6% in first half 2015

Penza, 14 July 2015. PenzaNews. The Penza region has increased its pond fish production rate over the six months of 2015 by 6.6% compared to a similar period of 2014, up to 380.5 tons, the acting regional Minister of Agriculture Andrei Burlakiv announced during a meeting after the workshop on fishery industry development held in the Kameshkir area on Monday, July 13.
He also noted that the production rate of pond fish more than tripled over 2009-2014, up to 1,973 tons a year ago.
“The fisheries given away for fish industry have produced 1,569 tons. The entertainment ones and the water reserves have yielded 404 tons of fish,” the head of the regional Agriculture Ministry clarified.
He also added that the industry plans to increase the yield to 2,074 tons in 2015, including 1,670 tons of fish for industry, says the press service of the Penza region Agriculture Ministry.
