Penza, Gomel regions sign cooperation agreement during Sochi meeting

Penza, 19 September 2015. PenzaNews. The government of the Penza region and the executive committee of the Gomel region have signed an agreement on cooperation in trade, economics, science, technical and cultural fields during the 2nd regional forum of Russia and Belarus held in Sochi on Friday, September 18.

The document was signed by the elected governor of the Penza region Ivan Belozertsev and the chairman of the Gomel executive committee Vladimir Dvornik.

Both head officials expressed their hope this event will give a boost to mutual cooperation.

“The Penza region is interested in further strengthening our economic ties. Our common task is to create beneficial conditions for developing market relations between the regions,” said Ivan Belozertsev.

The document, active for 5 years, includes propositions to develop joint companies, programs and projects in various fields, as well as a series of bilateral meetings, talks and forums.

Belarus has been one of the main foreign trade partners of the region, with the sales turnover surpassing the 25-million dollars threshold in H1 2015, the press service of the Penza region government informed PenzaNews agency.
