Penza Confectionary Factory celebrates 90th anniversary

Penza, 17 October 2015. PenzaNews. The celebration of the 90th anniversary of the Penza Confectionary Factory took place on Friday, October 16, at the regional Philharmonic Hall.

The acting chairman of the regional governor Valery Savin congratulated the confectionary factory workers with the notable date, and read out a letter of congratulation from the governor Ivan Belozertsev.

“Over these years, your team went along a grand way of establishment and development. The successes you have achieved are based upon the foundation of your hard work, professional skills, ever-present dedication to your craft of choice. Your goods are famous far outside the region and remain in demand both in various regions of Russia, and abroad,” it read.

During the event, the best workers of the enterprise received letters of gratitude from the Russian Government, Russian Ministry of Agriculture and the head of the Penza region, says the press service of the regional government.

The Penza Confectionary Factory was founded in 1925. It started with a staff of 10 people and produced under 90 kg of caramel and 60 kg of Russian pryaniks (gingerbread) a day.

In 2003, the enterprise joined the holding “United Confectioners.”

At present, the Penza Confectionary Factory produces over 130 brands of products: sweets, butterscotch candies, candy drops, marshmallow, waffles, Russian pryaniks, cookies and waffle cakes. The factory’s unique elite candy sets, “Tarkhany,” “Lermontov” and “Penza,” are famous as the example of its quality of production.

For many years, the enterprise has been producing the famous lines of sweets many people know from childhood: “Tryufeli,” “Krasnaya Shapochka,” “Romashka,” “Petushok, Maslyanaya Golovyshka,” “Ptichye Moloko,” and more.
