Penza, 16 November 2015. PenzaNews. Penza authorities plan to spend 389 million rubles on the maintenance of city roads, bridges and viaducts in 2016, Olga Zavyalkina, head of the city’s financial department, announced during the November 16 session of the permanent City Duma committee on housing and communal affairs, land improvement and ecology held on Monday.

The spending amount was not reduced compared to 2015, she added.

“There were proposals by the financial department during the committee reviews on administration level to reduce the sum; but, after taking into account the objectives set for the enterprise [‘Penzadormost’] and the need to keep the city clean, the sum was increased,” Olga Zavyalkina explained.

The head of the financial department also added that 5,748,000 rubles was allocated for the upkeep of forest areas within the city zone, and 2,028,000 more for water constructions on Vyad river.

“There will be a subsidy of 11,375,000 rubles to make up for lost profits of ‘Penzenskie Bani.’ The funding for reconstruction and capital repairs of heating pipelines was also left at the 2015 level – 5 million rubles. 187,650,000 rubles will be for the municipal service ‘Street lightning management,’ no less than in 2015. Landscape gardening – upkeep of parks, public gardens, green strips – is 98,600 rubles, again, on the 2015 level. And the upkeep for the water basin resort areas is 1,168,000 rubles,” she clarified.

According to Olga Zavyalkina, the spending on hockey rinks will be reduced down to 1 million rubles for the next year.

“We also plan to allocate 5 million rubles for dilapidated building demolition, 35.1 million rubles for regional operator transactions for capital repairs of municipal housing, and 792 thousand rubles for repair and preservation of municipal funding,” said the head of the financial department.
