Penza region analyzes socioeconomic development figures

Penza, 11 May 2016. PenzaNews. The Penza region Ministry of Economy has analyzed the socioeconomic performance of the Penza region in Q1 2016 compared to the average figures in Russia and the Volga Federal District.

According to the available information, the industrial production index of the Penza region in Q1 2016 reached 101% year-to-year, bringing the region on the sixth best place in the Volga Federal District and 45th in Russia. At the same time, Russia overall achieved an industrial production index of 99.4%, with a figure of 97.8% in the Volga Federal District.

In particular, the Penza region holds the lead in the VFD regions by the physical volume of commercial public services – 101.2% year-to-year.

At the same time, the Penza region holds the 3rd place in the VFD and 18th in Russia in real estate production, and 2nd and 20th respectively by the secondary-market housing price index.

Moreover, the cost of the fixed consumer goods basket in the Penza region has reached 12,202.80 rubles in Q1 2016, which is 11% lower than the countrywide average, giving it a 9th-best position in the country by the dynamics and bringing the region to the 7th place in the VFD and 18th countrywide.

In the meantime, the cost of the minimum grocery basket in the Penza region remains one of the lowest in Russia – 3,036.20 rubles by the end of march. In this respect, the Penza region was rated 3rd in the Volga Federal District and 5th across the country.

Also, the consumer price index in the region reached 101.6% from December 2015, compared to 102.1% countrywide.

Alongside that, the Penza region reached a registered unemployment index of 0.9% by the end of March, compared to 1.4% in Russia and 1.2% in the VFD.
