Penza region 7th in Volga Federal District industrial production index rating

Penza, 3 July 2016. PenzaNews. The Penza region reached an industrial production index of 100.2% in January-May 2016, surpassing the average levels in Russia (100.1%) and the Volga Federal District (99%), says the regional Ministry of Industry.

According to it, the Penza region is on the seventh best region in the VFD sorted by the index.
According to the information by the ministry, the highest growth in January-May 2016 were registered in: production of electrical, digital and optical equipment (131.2%); paper production, printing and publishing (114.1%); production of leather, leather goods and footwear (117.5%); textile and clothing manufacturing (116.7%); wood processing and wood items production (109%); vehicles and vehicle equipment production (103.3%); and production of foods and beverages (102.3%).
The list of the fastest-growing vital production items year-to-year features 80 points, including grains (+59.6%), sausages (+26.8%), cheeses and cheese products (+21.3%), confectionary (+18.5%), whole milk products (+12.4%), measurement, control and testing devices (+67.7%), glass kitchenware and cookware (+46.2%), computing devices, components and equipment (+29.6%), footwear (+25.2%), door elements (+16.6%), valves and pipelines (+12.5%), non-minable construction materials (+10.1%), and ready-to-use cloth (+9.3%).
