Penza, 5 July 2016. PenzaNews. The Penza region is the highest sausage and cheese production region in the Volga Federal District over the first five months of 2016.

The two aforementioned production areas increased by 126.8% and 121.3% respectively, the press service of the regional Agriculture Ministry informed PenzaNews.

“The region holds the second place in increase of milk production per cow – 108.8%,” they added.

According to the ministry, the Penza region is third in production of meat and meat products – 16,800 tons.

“The region reached its production of cattle and poultry meat in live weight to 114,700 tons. The Penza region is third in the Volga Federal District with this figure,” the regional Agriculture Ministry added.
