Ivan Belozertsev urges to strengthen measures against counterfeiting in Penza region

Penza, 8 July 2016. PenzaNews. Measures, taken in relation to companies engaging in production and distribution of counterfeits, should be strengthened in the Penza region. Such opinion was expressed by the governor Ivan Belozertsev during the meeting of the commission countering illegal turnover of industrial products, which took place in the regional government.

“We held the commission session last year in March. For this period […] there were discovered cases of production and selling counterfeited products – both of Penza producers and from other federal subjects,” he said while opening the session on Thursday, July 7.
Ivan Belozertsev noted that Penza enterprises should understand their responsibility of the region’s image created.
“We need to do everything to encourage enterprises to produce quality products without violations,” the region governor added.
During the meeting, the governor aimed representatives of departments to conducting thorough control over dishonest enterprises and simultaneously minimizing a number of checks in those companies that faultlessly perform their work.
Then, the head of the local Rospotrebnadzor department Mikhail Perekusikhin informed the commission members of the results of industrial products quality and safety monitoring.
He reported that during the first half of 2016 over 1 thousand checks were conducted, following the results of which 2.2 thousand fines amounting to over 11 million rubles were imposed.
“236 lots of food raw materials and products with amount of 13 thousand 519.5 kg were rejected, and subsequently there were issued 60 orders for suspension of products selling,” the reporter said.
Mikhail Perekusikhin explained that different measures were applied to violators – fines, orders for products utilization and suspension of operations.
In addition, according to him, in the territory of the region there were revealed facts of counterfeited products sale produced both in the Penza region and beyond its boundaries.
Ivan Belozertsev asked what violations were most often committed by Penza enterprises and what measures were taken.
The head of the local Rospotrebnadzor department said that, in particular, there were revealed cases of discrepancy of product content and data on the label, no date of production and failure to sell by expire date.
He gave an example of the individual entrepreneur Evgeny Leontyev, violations were detected several times at his oil packing factory, however, no measures gave positive results – the businessman continues his work in the same manner.
Commenting on it, Ivan Belozertsev encouraged the audience to offer ways to respond to such behavior of manufacturers. In particular, he urged representatives of Rospotrebnadzor, the prosecutor’s office and the regional Ministry of Agriculture to handle the matter.
“Aren’t we able to cope with them. We are!” the head of the region emphasized.
He also offered to give to publicity all the cases of counterfeiting, including by placing information next to shop counters.
“Buyers coming to shops should see this information. They will stop and think whether they should buy these products,” he summarized.
