“Sady Pridonia” to increase area of apple orchards in Penza region

Penza, 24 August 2016. PenzaNews. JSC “National Food group “Sady Pridonia” plans to increase the area of apple orchards in Luninsky area of the Penza region. This was announced by the president of the NFG “Sady Pridonia”Andrei Samokhin during a meeting with the governor Ivan Belozertsev held on Wednesday, August 24.

“Every year, the company aims at the development of up to 3 million rubles, this year it was the turn of the Penza region. In the spring, we have laid 60 hectares of intensive garden, until the end of the year we plan to plant additional 60 hectares of fruit plantations. Currently our medium term objective till 2020 year — 750 hectares of new garden,” he explained.
The head of the company added that at the moment they finished breeding selection of apple varieties suitable for cultivation in the climatic conditions of the Penza region, and now they were in need of new gardens.
Ivan Belozertsev expressed interest in the project and instructed the two regional agencies — the Department of State Property and the Ministry of Agriculture — to provide necessary assistance to NFG “Sady Pridonia.”
As the press service of the government of the Penza region informs, the company's branches are successfully operating in Luninsky and Bekovsky areas. The total area of the gardens is 5.8 hectares, of which 5 ha are at fructifying age.
