Maria Romanenko from Penza tells about project which won on “Eurasia” project

Penza, 14 September 2016. PenzaNews. The “Green economy” project, marked at the first international youth educational forum “Eurasia” in Orenburg with a grant in the amount of 300 thousand rubles, is intended to include unused wood species in trade turnover and obtain non-waste production, the project developer Maria Romanenko, a postgraduate of the Penza State University of Architecture and Construction told PenzaNews.

“We developed innovative technology and a substance that reduce the cost of finished products and include low-grade wood in trade turnover due to changes in its operational properties - solidity, durability, hydrophobicity, fire resistance,” the agency interlocutor explainced.
Maria Romanenko stressed that the modified wood also has good decorative properties and can replace expensive breeds that are imported from abroad.

“The range of applications of such modified wood is wide. It can be used as various building materials and fire screens, as beams, window and door units, drawers for ammunition storage. The novelty of innovation is confirmed by two Russian patents I obtained,” she noted.
The project author specified that there are plans to conduct further research and development of technology, and further implementation requires funds from investors.
“The forum was attended by 800 representatives from 70 countries, more than 170 projects have been presented. The total amount of grants awarded — 1 million rubles: two projects received 300 thousand rubles for the first place each, and two grants — 200 thousand rubles for the second place,” Maria Romanenko reminded.

She noted the high level of the participants and the fighting spirit of competitors.
“After evaluating the possibilities, I was hoping to win and put maximum effort, but the intrigue remained until the last moment. It was an exciting time waiting fot the announcement of the winners. During the awarding ceremony, I was overwhelmed with joy, pride for our region and positive emotions,” the winner of “Eurasia” forum said.
According to Maria Romanenko, the forum was attended by a large number of honored guests.

“It was especially nice to meet my namesake — Hero of Russia, cosmonaut Roman Romanenko. The forum program was very busy. One of the main events was the parade of Russian students held under the slogan “Towards World Festival of Youth and Students!”which I was a part of. It was simultaneously held in 30 cities of our country, with which we contacted by teleconference from Orenburg,” the participant of the event shared her impressions.
Maria Romanenko expressed the hope that in 2017 she will be able to take part in the World Youth Festival in Sochi.
“I am very pleased that I was able to represent our region worthy on such a large and significant event,” the grant owner noted.
