Sergey Lavrov positively appraised cooperation between Penza region and Belarus

The Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov called cooperation between the Penza region and Belarus a good example of interaction with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union at the meeting of the council of the regional heads with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.

The governor of the Penza region Ivan Belozertsev took part in the meeting held on Wednesday, October 26.
Opening the meeting, Sergey Lavrov emphasized that constituent entities of the Russian Federation consistently expand foreign economic links with regions of the other countries of EEU.
“Since that time, there have been arranged such major events as the XIII Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan and the V Russian-Armenian Interregional Forum. In September in Moscow, the 33rd World Conference of the International Association of Techno parks and Innovation Development Zones was held. Within its framework there was organized the session ‘Common technological space of EEU.’ At the session, issues, which facilitate the development of interaction between technoparks and technopoles of the countries of the Union, were discussed. Preparations for conducting ‘Days of the Ural Federal District regions in Armenia’ in 2017 are now under way,” he said.
The head of the Foreign Ministry also cited a number of examples of good interaction between constituent entities and the EEU countries.
“We can distinguish the contacts development between the Astrakhan region and Kazakhstan in exchanging experience in the field of fishery, agricultural products supply. The Penza region signed a plan of action to implement a number of projects with Belarus until 2018. The Bryansk region concluded agreements with the Vitebsk and Gomelsk regions. The Leningrad region in November will participate in the fourth international forum “Anticounterfeiting-2016” in Yerevan, which is supported by the Eurasian Economic Commission. I will remark the activity of Primorsky Krai on setting up facilities for assembling Belarusian harvesters in Vladivostok,” the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Russia quotes Sergey Lavrov.
