This opinion was expressed by the Doctor of Science, the leading economist of “Stolypin Club” Yakov Mirkin during the lecture within the framework of the forum “Business Development” in Penza on Wednesday, October 26.

“What is happening with the economy is we ourselves,” he said.

The expert presented to the audience the results of the opinion polls confirming his words.

“Traditionally, for years, only 10-12% of the population is willing to live without government interference. All the others in one way or another welcome nationalized economy,” Yakov Mirkin explained.

According to him, the people’s attitude to state structures is quite controversial.

“We, being collective people, are inclined to be for the state, to be for large structures, which we are ready to join. At the same time, we do not believe these large structures will protect us,” the Doctor of Economic Science said.

Yakov Mirkin also cited data of sociological studies showing the dynamics of spreading the desire “to shoot everyone who made the life in the country what it is like now,” the indicator of which in recent years has ranged from 18% to 34%.
