“We learned how to live in new economic circumstances, managed to provide budget and social stability, and slight economic growth. Summarizing the results of the 2016 year, forecasted investments will amount to about 70 billion rubles, and next year – to 75 billion,” the head of the region said.

He added that he set the task to develop a new economic strategy of practical nature that would take into account present circumstances.

“I took the decision to create a project office in the regional government structure. Its employees will work on the introduction of project management, including municipal level, on laws and regulations adoption, as well as on monitoring of projects realization in priority areas,” Ivan Belozertsev explained and asked the heads of city and municipal areas to take this matter seriously.

“We should offer investors terms and conditions which they will hardly reject. […] It is important to meet the demand of investors as soon as possible, otherwise they will shift to territories of other regions,” the governor noted.

As an example of successful work in the field of import substitution, the head of the region spoke about “StankoMashStroy” where this year the second metalworking machinery assembly department was started to be build; the machinery assembled there will meet world quality standards.

“I think we should go back to discussion of issues concerning giving more privileges to residents and managers of industrial parks companies,” the governor said.

According to him, it is necessary to review profit tax rate preferences for residents of industrial parks and centres of regional development.

“It is we who should follow investors, and not investors who should look for the government,” Ivan Belozertsev emphasized.
