Penza, 28 April 2017. PenzaNews. According to the results of the year 2016, the average salary in the Penza region increased by almost 8%. This was reported by the governor Ivan Belozertsev when he was making a report at the 43rd regular meeting of the Legislative Assembly of the region on Friday, April 28.

"The average salary increased by almost 8% and amounted to about 25,000 rubles," the head of the region said.

He added that according to the growth rate of salary, the Penza region occupies the first place among regions of the Volga Federal District and the sixth in Russia.

"Of course, I realize that the salary is still small and needs increasing," Ivan Belozertsev noted.

According to the governor, this is the reason why the Penza region government concludes agreements with business representatives including those that presuppose increase of workers' salary.
