"We also consider the construction of four more sites in the future, which means the number of animals will reach 250,000. This will give almost 50,000 tons of meat," he said adding that currently the company also has 110,000 pigs.
According to him, taking into account the objectives, Cherkizovo should develop fodder production and solve the issue of slaughter.
"The capacity of the slaughter line at the Penza meat processing factory [in the Penza branch of the LLC Cherkizovsky Meat Processing Plant] is 170-180 head per hour. We are not satisfied with the number anymore," the founder of the group explained.
He noted that in the framework of the factory reconstruction it is planned to launch a slaughtering line with a capacity of 200 head per hour.
"Thus, we will be able to slaughter about 1,5 million pigs per year," Igor Babaev specified.
Moreover, he added that the possibility of producing semi-finished products is also considered and waste treatment facilities are being designed.
Igor Babaev drew special attention to the fact that Cherkizovo Group had managed to increase production significantly: if earlier the meat processing plant produced 200-300 tons of each product per month, nowadays the production of Krakow semi-smoked sausage amounts to almost 1,000 tons.
"There are opportunities and area, which allow to reach 2,000-2,500 tons of the product in the future if it is in demand. This refers to sausage production," he said.
On Thursday, March 29, Igor Babaev had a business meeting with chairman of the regional government Nikolai Simonov and mayor Victor Kuvaytsev, which was held at the meat processing plant in Penza.
The authorities assessed the production process from minced meat production and filling of natural casing to packaging.
Tasting of the products was also organized.
