Penza, 25 April 2018. PenzaNews. In 2017 the average salary in the Penza region amounted to about 26,600 roubles. This was announced by governor Ivan Belozertsev in his report on the work of the regional government at the 8th regular session of the regional Legislative Assembly on Wednesday, April 25.

He noticed that it was more than the level of 2016 but still not enough.

"I, as a governor, together with the Penza region government, businesses and industrial enterprises have to work on this. If financing and tax revenues increase, salaries should also increase more actively," the head of the region said.

Ivan Belozertsev drew attention to the fact that the employment situation is characterized as stable.

According to him, the main indicators of the labour market over the last 10 years remained lower than the average for Russia and the Volga Federal District.

"The overall unemployment rate [in the Penza region] in 2017 amounted to 4.5%%, in the Russian Federation – to 5.1%. The level of registered unemployment is 0.8%," the region head specified.
