“When I examine the Italian presence in the region, I see that something more can be done to develop relations. Our strategy is to come to Russia, participate in the development of economic ties, work together,” he explained.

In turn Ivan Belozertsev drew attention to the fact that Italian businessmen have been working in the Penza region for more than 10 years, however, it is necessary to develop cooperation.

“There is a lot of Italian furniture in the retail chains of our region, which finds a quick sale due to the original design and high quality. At the same time, the Penza furniture cluster is one of the most powerful in Russia. The sewing industry is also actively developing in the region, the cluster's volumes have grown by 60% compared to last year, and Italians are world-known fashion legislators,” the governor said.

Pasquale Terracciano added that in addition to the indicated areas, there are prospects for cooperation in engineering and agriculture.

As a result, the parties agreed to work out the issues of organizing Italian business missions to the Penza region so that potential investors could personally get acquainted with the conditions for the creation of joint ventures, the press service of the regional government reports.
