Penza, 7 July 2018. PenzaNews. The foreign trade turnover of the Penza region from January to April 2018 amounted to 150.6 million dollars, which is 11% higher than the result of the same period last year. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Economy with the reference to data from the Federal Customs Service of Russia.

The share of export equalled 45.2%, that of import – 54.8%.

The export volume in four months amounted to 68.1 million dollars including that to far-abroad countries – 26.8 million dollars, and CIS countries – 41.3 million.

The main partners of the Penza region export market are Kazakhstan – with a share of 22.9% of the total volume, Belarus – 13.3%, Latvia – 8.9%, Ukraine – 7.7% and Uzbekistan – 6.3%.

The volume of export to Germany increased by 30% compared with the same period of 2017 and reached 2.2 million dollars, export to USA increased by 33%, up to 3.2 million, and export to Switzerland increased almost 1.5 times – up to 1.8 million dollars.

The main exported goods are food and raw materials for its production, engineering products as well as pulp and paper products.

Over four months of the current year import amounted to 82.5 million dollars including that from far-abroad countries – products worth 72.2 million dollars were delivered to the region, and CIS countries – 10.3 million dollars.

The main imported goods are metals and metal products, chemical products, food products and wood products.

A distinctive feature of the beginning of 2018 was the increase in trade with CIS countries, the growth amounted to 32.2%.
