Penza, 22 October 2020. PenzaNews. The number of citizens registered with the employment service and officially recognised as unemployed exceeded 33 000 in Penza region. This is stated in the report on the social and economic situation of the region in January-September 2020 prepared by Penzastat, which is at the disposal of PenzaNews.

Unemployment has been rising in the region since the second quarter.

At the end of January there were 5 295 unemployed in Penza region registered officially, in February – 5 291, in March – 5 238, whereas in April there were as many as 11 203 unemployed.

By the end of May 18 943 residents of Penza region had the status of an unemployed person, 24 942 people – in June and 30 000 – in July.

According to the latest published data, at the end of August there were 33 317 officially registered unemployed in the region. This is 11.1% more than the previous month and 6.2 times more than a year ago.
