Penza, 26 December 2021. PenzaNews. Residents of the Penza region took out 13,900 mortgage loans from banks for a total amount of 31.2 billion rubles in January-October 2021. This is stated in the message of the press service of the regional branch of the Volgo-Vyatka main department of the Bank of Russia, received by PenzaNews agency.

It notes that compared to the same period last year, the number of mortgage loans increased by 14.1%, and their volume – by 34.3%.

“The weighted average interest rate on mortgage loans for the year increased by 0.53 percentage points and in October this year was at the level of 7.33%,” the press release says.

The text adds that the total amount of obligations of residents of the Penza region on mortgage loans for the year increased by 28.6% and as of 1 November 2021 amounted to 77.9 billion roubles; the share of overdue debt in the structure of the mortgage portfolio is still at a low level of 0.4%.
