Moreover, 5,468 foreign students were received in hotels and other tourism residences in 2015, which is 1.3 times more than in 2014.

The past year saw 500 newly released CDs with audio tours, including pedestrian tourism trails through Penza.

According to official statistics, the trend for new tourism locations in the Penza region is rising, with 294 locations of this type by 1 January 2016 – 38.7% more than in 2012.

Also, the previous year was marked by the beginning of accreditation for hotel rating organizations. As of 1 February 2016, three hotels – “Voyazh,” “Heliopark Residence” and “Avia” – successfully passed the inspection and received a 3-star rating each, says the press service of the Penza region Department of Culture and Archive.
