Penza, 2 June 2016. PenzaNews. Under 33% of employees are fully satisfied with the level of education displayed by university graduates, according to recent polls, announced the Penza region Minister of Education Alexander Voronkov during the session of the gubernatorial supreme economic council on Thursday, June 2.

“The polls tell us that 26% are completely not satisfied with the professional level displayed by uni graduates. The others say that the graduates’ professional level is satisfactory. And only a small share – under 30% – are fully satisfied with their education,” he said.

According to the minister, the system of professional education alone is unable to help graduates achieve the level of education required by employers.

“Increasing the graduates’ professional education requires a significant re-education initiative for all professors of dedicated subjects and inclusion of people working in the fields in the education process. Of course, we also need to increase – or should I say multiply – the number of hours allotted for internship. All employers stress it for us,” Alexander Voronkov explained.

According to him, there are attempts to resolve this issue on the region-wide level, including the dual education initiative that requires students to undergo real production practice.

However, Alexander Voronkov admitted that only under 10% of students – 1,679 people – combine university education with employment.
